This Privacy Policy describes how BMI Calculator ("the App", "We", "Us") collects, uses and protects information when you use the application. By using the App, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Data You Enter (Stored Locally on Your Device)

The App allows you to create a local account with a username and password. All account data and BMI history records are stored only on your device using Android DataStore. We do not transmit your personal health data (age, height, weight, BMI results) to any external server.

Username and password (stored locally, never sent to a server)
BMI measurement history (date, age, height, weight, gender)

1.2 Data Collected Automatically – Advertising AdMob

This App displays banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC). AdMob may automatically collect the following information to serve relevant ads:

Advertising ID (GAID / Android Advertising ID)
Device information (model, OS version, screen size)
IP address and approximate location (country/region level)
App interaction data (ad impressions, clicks)
Diagnostic and performance data

This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy and AdMob's Data Usage Policy.

On Android 13 and above, the App requests the com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID permission to access the Advertising ID for personalized ad delivery.

2. How We Use Information

Local account & BMI history: To allow you to save and review your personal BMI measurements over time. Data stays on your device.
Advertising: To display banner ads through Google AdMob. Ad revenue helps keep the App free.
App improvement: Aggregated, non-identifiable crash and usage data may be used to improve stability.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Data may be shared only in the following cases:

Google AdMob: Advertising identifiers and device data are shared with Google to serve ads. See Google's partner policy.
Legal obligations: We may disclose information if required by law or valid government requests.

4. Local Login & Data Security

The App provides a local (on-device) login system. Your username, password, and all health records are stored exclusively on your device using Android's DataStore. No data is uploaded to the internet or shared with third parties. Different users on the same device can only see their own records.

While we take reasonable precautions, no storage method is 100% secure. We recommend you protect your device with a screen lock.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

All your data is stored locally on your device. You can delete your BMI history at any time from within the App ("Reset Records"). Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all locally stored data.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.

7. Your Rights

You may:

View and delete your BMI history within the App at any time.
Opt out of personalized ads via your device's Settings → Privacy → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization.
Request information about data collected by contacting us at the address below.

8. Third-Party Links

The App may contain links to third-party sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
